Dear Shari and Toby,
In several places in the Bible it is said in the latter days the wise will recognize and know when Christ will come again. Christ’s discourse upon leaving the temple and answer as to when he will come again was a disguised answer as to when he is coming. The feast of the trumpets was referred to it as the feast of the “unknown day and hour”. It was the only one of their holy days that came on the first day of the Biblical month. That date could vary a day around the expected time. The Bible, OT&NT is full of names, dates and places with unbroken links to tie them all together. The prophecy of Daniel states that God will slay the dominant one world government and take dominion away from the remaining governments and then hand his dominion over to Christ. The prophecy of Hosea brings us one date closer to knowing the start and end of the 70th week of Daniel’s prophecies and the second coming of Christ. As Hosea predicted, Israel (10 tribes of the North) was destroyed by the Assyrians and dispersed without mercy or identification as a nation, never to be heard from again. 134 years later the two southern tribes were no longer even a conquered nation, but with mercy, were a nation without a country when the temple was destroyed. This date would be the start of the 2 day (2000 years) period. As has been pointed out by others, periods and times mentioned in prophecies have been meticulously accurate. I would expect some +/- on this date.
In the prophecy of Hosea (6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight ) a discourse is provided on the future of Israel. He says that Israel will be smitten/cut and bound up. In two days (to God a day is as a thousand years) he will revive Israel and they will live in His site for a day (1000 years). Jerusalem was smitten or last cut off in AD 70 when the Romans destroyed the temple. 2000 years + (70years ) = August 5, 2070 Gregorian is the date when God will revive Israel and they will live in his site.
As stated in Daniel, God will conquer the beast and later give the world to Christ to rule. The conquering of the beast, God overthrowing the one world government, will occur during the end of the 70th week. The dates for wormwood and the other events in the final seven years of the age of man’s rule can be calculated backward from that point. These two events, Israel revived and living in God’s sight, and the 70th week can be related or un-related events. It could be assumed that if God is providing for and protecting Israel in Jordan during the last 3.5 years of the 70th week, they are revived and living in his sight. But, if Jerusalem gets totally destroyed or nuked during the war of the 70th week, it may be 40 years before the Jews can go back to their country in peace.
The prophecy of Hosea
The time of Hosea the prophet lies between 810-705 BC. Note: his prophecies were addressed to Juda, the southern tribe/kingdom.
(588 B.C.) Babylon invaded Jerusalem and brought Jewish independence to an end. From this time on the Jews are under Babylon, Persia, Egypt, Syria and Rome until 70 A.D. when they were scattered around the world. On the tenth of Lous, Av by Hebrew calendar, (SUNDAY AUGUST 5, 70 AD – JULIAN CALENDAR within .5 days Gregorian calendar) Solomon's temple burned. The kingdom of Judah existed 133 years after the ten tribes, comprising the Northern Kingdom of Israel, were carried away into Assyria.
Note: 70 AD is determined by the Julian and Gregorian calendars (.5 days difference). This is the date of the destruction of both Northern and Southern Kingdoms. It is A Sabbath year. This is the same day the temple was destroyed the first time.
Hosea
MY COMMENTS IN RED
To this point in Hosea he has repeatedly prophesied that the northern kingdom will be destroyed without mercy, The southern kingdom will be destroyed but with mercy,
5:14 For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the
house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away,
and none shall rescue him.
5:15
I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their Annunaki WENT HOME ~550BC
offense, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me
early.
After a time - both will be reunited.
1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the
sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place (Land of Judea) where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God. 1:11 Then shall the children of Judah and the children of Israel be (1946 - 48) gathered together, and appoint themselves one head, and they shall come up out of the land: for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
3:5 Afterward shall the children of Israel return, and seek the LORD
their God, and David their king; and shall fear the LORD and his goodness in the latter days.
At the end of chapter 5 (5:14 , 15 above), God is addressing both kingdoms about their destruction and His waiting for their acknowledgement of their offenses.
In chapter 6, Hosea is addressing both kingdoms saying 2 days after their destruction God will revive them to live in His sight.
6:1 Come, and let us return unto the LORD: for he hath torn, and he
will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
6:2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us
up, and we shall live in his sight.
6:3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going
forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come unto us as the
rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.
Many have tried to relate this to the death and resurrection of Christ. Many of the prophecies are dual prophecies. But a literal reading of this prophecy does not approach that subject.
TEMPLE BURNING DATE
· Josephus, a secular Jewish historian, witnessed the temple's destruction and observed the temple's burning occurred on the 10th day of the 5th Jewish month. · Josephus also noted that Babylon had burned Solomon's temple on the same date in prior history. Josephus wrote: "Titus retired into the tower of Antonia, and resolved to storm the temple the next day, early in the morning, with his whole army, and to encamp round about the holy house; but, as for that house, God had for certain long ago doomed it to the fire; and now that fatal day was come, according to the revolution of ages; it was the tenth day of the month Lous [Av], upon which it was formerly burnt by the king of Babylon."(1) |
Raising Israel up and living in god’s sight
Zach 13:7, Luke 21:24, 2nd Peter 3:8,9, Psalm 90:4, EXO: 19:11,16
This is the only mention of Hosea’s prophecy I have heard - 5/5/2021.
This is close but Israel was not scattered until 70AD! The scattering of disciples and the church had nothing to do with it. it was only the tribes of Israel. The 10 of the north were destroyed mercilessly (Assyria carried them off to never be heard from again) and the two of the south (Rome and other nations carried them off but kept groups together) with mercy. These are traceable groups we have followed for nearly 2000 years. Notice, it is “after” the second day; 2069-2070, he will raise them up to live in his sight “in” the third day.
